Quick review: Gertrude, who prefers Tru, lives with her two moms and is close to her two dads in the Here! film "Tru Loved." She has been around gay all her life and while her unique upbringing has made her a target, has long gotten over the baggage most of her peers have with sexual orientation. She and her two moms have left San Francisco and arrived in a small southern California town that is a bit more conservative, where it is still safe to let everyone know how ignorant you are. The star quarterback asks her out, and she's hoping for romance, but as each date progresses and he still hasn't made a move, she figures out he's gay. Problem is, he hasn't accepted it himself and is using Tru as his beard (pretending to date her so others will think him straight). Once she, however, finds love, it gets more complicated. This film is all about teen drama and the closet, both those still in it, and those who have left it behind. It's cute and fun, but if you're not into high school dramas, probably not for you. And the ending wraps things up way too quickly and unrealistically. Just like many other after school dramas they used to show on TV.
