Synopsis: Mayson, gay college man, has been saving his first same-sex kiss for someone special. He meets a candidate for that kiss at his friend's party in this romantic comedy.
Quick review: There's a fine line between a good romantic comedy and one that doesn't work as well. It's required you be sappy and predictable, because who wants to see a romantic comedy that ends with tragedy? In this film, something seems off. It may be that the lead actors are portraying boys who are in their final year of college, and yet they all look to be in their late 20s or early 30s. It may be that one of those guys is claiming that he's never kissed a guy, and yet he knows he's gay. It may be the flashback style of telling the story. It may be being forced-fed scenes that are out of place (such as the stereotypical best gal pal showing up to spy on the couple on their first date). Most likely it's a combination of all of the above. Mayson is the boy who's never been kissed (by another boy, he went through his straight phase). He and his best gal pal Robin spy Reiley at the coffee shop and it's love at first sight. At least until a scone gets in the way. But the pair meet up again at a party. This film is high quality, with good actors, etc. But at the end, you can't help but feel something was off.
