Quick review:
Damion Dietz must have faced some serious rejections in his attempts to get a movie made so he made this film about seeking revenge on Hollywood. Dietz was the screenwriter and director of this bad film. Beverly is a middle-age drag queen, and calling her that is a huge insult to drag queens. You would think by your late 40s you might have mastered the techniques of applying makeup, especially if you've been doing every day for most of your life. Then there are the wigs, which are better suited for clowns at holiday parties than auditions. Beverly shows up at the Pride Playhouse in West Hollywood frustrated with a career going no where. She's auditioning for a role in a 'Naked Boys Singing' rip off. Since there are no roles for drag queens or women, she's rejected. Something snaps, and she's decided if she's never going to be a star, then she's going to kill everyone. Get it? Beverly Kills. That's the level of humor you get in this 'comedy.' While she's off recruiting other Hollywood rejects for her grand plot to destory mankind, we get to the real story of this film. Shane works at the theater doing whatever odd job needs doing. He also sleeps there. He meets the new lights guy, Ray. Sparks fly and we soon have a budding romance. Between those two and the rehearsals for the naked men singing show, we get plenty of nudity, some of it frontal. And yes, the boys are cute. So the movie has at least that going for it. But by the time you get to the climax and the detonation of Beverly's grand scheme, well, it's disappointing. I guess Dietz did get his revenge on Hollywood. He made people like me sit through this film.
