Quick review:
I was shocked at some of the actors who agreed to be part of this film: Parker Posey, Alexis Arquette and Craig Chester among them. This is not an easy movie to watch. Dennis is a boy of 15 who has fallen in love with porn. When he views some snuff porn, of a boy who apparently has been killed, it starts him on a darker path. He begins to yearn for more violent sex. Fast forward about 10 years. After his quasi-boyfriend/best friend leaves him for a sugar daddy in Paris, Dennis plays around with the boyfriend's younger brother until he gets bored with that toy. Dennis decides to move to San Francisco to explore his darker thoughts. From there, we're never sure if Dennis' experiences are part of his imagination that he's putting down in the form of a book, or if they're true. If they're fiction, they're deeply disturbing. If they're true, more so. Dennis' friends are on their way to San Francisco to visit him and while on the train they're reading his account of what he's been doing, complete with all the gore and detail of every murder. Even his closest friends are not 100 percent certain the stories of killing and dismemberment are fiction or not. I was uneasy watching much of this film, which has loads of nudity and blood. Not to mention the scenes of violence and death. It's quite disturbing.
