Blue Gate Crossing (Lanse da men)

Year: 2002
Country: Taiwan
Director: Chin-yen Yee
Starring: Bo-lin Chen, Shu-hui Liang, Lun-mei Guey, Joanna Chou
Synopsis: This Taiwan film explores sexuality and the lines that get blurred when we're teens. It features the typical love triangle, with a lesbian twist.
Quick review: Meng likes Lin, but she's too afriad of her homosexuality to tell her. Lin likes Zhang, the star of the school swim team. But she's too shy to even talk to him, much less display that interest. So, she sends Meng to let Zhang know she's crazy about him. The only problem is Zhang doesn't believe there is a Lin, that Meng is only pretending there's another girl because she's too shy to admit she like him. And during this strange courtship, Zhang falls for Meng. And during that courtship, Meng begins to have feelings for Zhang too. It's a confusing time to be a teen. It's a simplistic plot filled with all the teen angst of our pasts. If you really want to relive it, here you go. It is a cute film, but it's nothing you haven't seen before and it comes to the predictable end you expect 15 minutes into the film.
