Slutty Summer
Year:
2004
Country:
USA
Director:
Casper Andreas

Casper Andreas, Virginia Bryan, Jeffrey Christopher Todd, Jesse Archer, Jamie Hatchett
Synopsis:
A gay young man breaks up with his boyfriend and spends a summer looking for love in New York City. If only there weren't so many men, and so little time ...
Quick review:
You have to admire anyone who works hard to make their dream a reality. Casper Andreas wrote, directed and starred in this independent film that unfortunately lacks the funding needed. You can tell from watching it that it was made on a shoestring budget. But never discount a film like that, because it's the passionate work on someone who took chances to make it happen. But you never know what you're going to get. In this case, it's nothing special. Andreas plays Marcus, who comes home one day to find his boyfriend cheating on him and that his four-year-old relationship has come to an end. Marcus, a writer, decides he needs to reconnect with people so he takes a job as a waiter at a busy restaurant in the East Village where all the other male waiters are gay. Marcus is still looking for love while two of his co-workers are looking for their next one-night stand. And of course, Marcus falls for one of the playboys. There's lots of sex scenes that don't really show anything so you can see just how slutty a summer it was. The supporting cast is pretty good, but Andreas is the weak link in this film. He saved the title role for himself and he just doesn't have the screen presence to carry this film.
