Synopsis: Two friends leave their small hometown in Kansas to live with an aunt in Kentucky, hoping to earn a shot to be actors -- or at least study acting at a good college.
Quick review: The promotion for this movie claims it's about a poor straight boy who must come to terms with his heterosexuality in a gay world. Hey, if you want to be in theater, you better be able to work with queens. David and Eric are close friends who are hoping to earn a spot at Syracuse University in the theater art's program. But they are late applying and their hopes look dim, so they leave Kansas and move in with an aunt in Louisville, Ky. But to keep improving as actors, they join the local community theater company. David is straight and Eric hasn't come out of the closet yet. It doesn't take David long to realize that he's the minority among all his gay friends. He becomes confused, despite an overpowering crush on a woman, and begins to think that he too must be gay. His gay friends then must convince him that he's straight, he was born straight, and no matter how much he wishes he were fabulous, he can't change his sexual identity. Corny? You bet. Over the top? Way, way over the top. But, this film is one of those it's so bad you just can't stop watching category movies. Which keeps it from being a total flop.
