Pretty Boy

Synopsis: A 13-year-old pretty boy leaves his mother and brothers and moves in with a much older man, only to be tossed aside when the girlfriend returns.
Quick review: They cut 10 seconds or so out of this film for its U.S. release, I'm guessing because showing the penis of a 13-year-old boy violates some child pornography law. It is a bit creepy watching these older men pursue the affections of this boy, who certainly acts much older than his age. Nick can no longer handle living with his mother and the endless line of men who sleep with her. So he leaves her and his brothers behind and shows up at the door of Ralph, a professor. Ralph takes the boy in and the two begin a happy, if illegal, relationship. But soon Ralph's girlfriend is returning from her trip abroad and Nick is on the streets, alone. He takes up with a violent gang of hustlers, led by a woman who dresses as a boy. They teach him how to survive on the streets, while taking advantage of him as well. Eventually Nick and the girl leading the gang become lovers and when Ralph reenters the picture you just know tragedy will soon follow. If I hadn't already seen about three dozen hustler films this might have held my interest better. But the plot has been done before, and done better. The only major difference is that this character is 13, which adds a bit of a creepiness factor to the film.
