Everlasting Secret Family, The

Year: 1987
Country: Australia
Director: Michael Thornhill
Starring: Mark Lee, Arthur Dignam
Synopsis: A group of older men recruit young men to be their house boys in this campy Australian film. What happens when the boy toy ages? What if he doesn't?
Quick review: Arthur Dignam plays a middle-age senator and sugar daddy to Mark Lee. The characters are not named, they are simply The Senator and His Boy. It's a little creepy the worship of youth the senator displays and how he thinks he can buy and own it. But of course, age catches up to everyone and the youth knows this. He seeks out a doctor while he's still young and gorgeous and demands that he begin experimental treatments to keep him that way forever in a twist obviously inspired by 'Dorian Gray.' The boy keeps his youth, so the senator keeps him. But, society does demand a price and in this case it's the marriage of the politically-ambitious senator. The fits of jealousy from the youth are annoying and hard to believe but it adds to the drama. Eventually, a child is born and the youth plots his revenge. Yes, this film is a little over the top. And it's worship of youth and beauty pretty shallow. You've been warned.
