Shake It All About (En Kort en lang)
Year:
2001
Country:
Denmark
Director:
Hella Joof
Starring:
Mads Mikkelsen, Troels Lyby and Charlotte Munck
Synopsis:
Jacob and Jørgen appear to be the happily married gay couple, until Jørgen's sister-in-law kisses Jacob a little too passionately and arouses feelings of bisexuality.
Quick review:
This is no tale of a man struggling to understand his own sexual orientation. Jacob is a spoiled brat who has pretty much had everything he ever wanted handed to him. So minutes after announcing to all their friends that Jacob and Jørgen plan to marry, Jacob is kissing his fiancee's sister-in-law, Caroline. At first the two try to fight their attraction, but it wouldn't be a movie if that attempt didn't fail. Eventually Jørgen must learn of the betrayal and that forces Jacob to finally decide what he really wants and try and refrain from everything else. The redemption at the end came off as a little too forced for me I spent most of this movie wanting to slap Jacob around.
