Synopsis: Based on the true story of 1980s supermodel Gia Carangi. We get the rise to fame, and the crash of one of the world's top lesbian supermodels, who died of AIDS.
Quick review: If you're a lesbian and haven't seen this movie, what are you waiting for? You get Angelina Jolie in her debut performance who spends a good portion of the movie naked. And you get some solid girl-on-girl action. So see it. As for myself, I really don't like drug movies. The actor I would most like to get in the sack is Jared Leto, and I even had a hard time getting through his drug movie, 'Requiem for a Dream.' It's just something I can't relate to and I hate to watch people self-destruct. And that's what this movie is. Gia is a young girl in Philadelphia who gets a shot to be a model. Because she is so different and brings attitude to every shoot, she becomes an instant hit. But, she has problems. She does not react well to being alone. The woman she has fallen in love with is living with a man. So, she turns to drugs. The spiral of despair continues until she starts sharing needles with drug atticts and contracts HIV. This is not a cheery motion picture. You do get lots of naked, beautiful women but it's a sad tale.
