Hush!

Year: 2001
Country: Japan
Director: Ryosuke Hashiquchi
Starring: Seiichi Tanabe, Kazuya Takahashi and Reiko Kataoka
Synopsis: Two gay men are just beginning a serious relationship with a straight woman decides one of them would make the perfect father for the baby she wants to have. Now, she just has to convince both of them to go along with her plan.
Quick review: Katsuhiro is a closeted gay man who has a woman co-worker chasing after him. He passes Naoya on the street, and the two hookup. Unlike most of the men Naoya brings home, this one seems willing to stick around a while. Enter Asako, a lonely straight woman who has had many doomed love affairs with men. She gets a bit of a shock after a visit to a doctor and decides she wants to change her life by giving birth. But she doesn't think much of her last one-night stand. She is on the receiving end of an act of kindness by Katsuhiro, and decides he's the man to father her child. The only things standing in her way is his boyfriend, the woman stalking him and his family. It's a touching film that plays the drama low-key at points, but goes a little over the top during the climax.
