Issues 101

Year: 2002
Country: USA
Director: John Lincoln III
Starring: Michael Rozman, Dennis W. Rittenhouse Jr., Jeff Sublett, Jason Boegh, Yolanda Johnston and Jeremy Smith.
Synopsis: Joe decides to come out of the closet the day before leaving for his new college. Once there, he joins a fraternity and gets close to one of his brothers, who is straight, with issues.
Quick review: Some of the guys are cute. There, I was able to say something nice. This movie is filled with first-time actors, and done by a first-time director and writer. It shows. The acting is way over the top, the writing stale and inconsistent and the film looks every bit a low-budget film as you know it had to be. Perhaps the only notable thing about it, is that singer Kelly Clarkson makes a cameo about six months before she would win the first American Idol. And to be honest (not a big fan of the show), I didn't even recognize her when her cameo came. The ridiculouse climax of this film is a race for student body president between the gay frat boy and a ditzy blond. If the whole thing sounds silly, well, it is. But there are some cute guys running around with shirts off every few minutes to keep you from becoming completely bored.
